About our Speaker: 

Darlene Merkler has 30 years of experience working in senior healthcare.  Having been a primary caregiver for her mother and father, she understands that caring for a loved one can be overwhelming. Darlene is currently working with Inland Caregiver Resource Center as an Education/Outreach Coordinator.

Darlene’s professional experience includes working in adult day care, assisted living, Alzheimer’s assisted living, skilled nursing, continuing care retirement, hospice and running caregiver support groups. Darlene worked with Riverside County Office on Aging where she helped to develop the Care Pathways Program.  She served as President of the ICRC Board of Directors several years ago and is currently employed by ICRC as an Outreach/Education Coordinator.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for Inland Association for Continuity of Care (IACC) as membership chair and has served as president for this group in the past. Darlene is the author of three books.  The latest book “The Complete Resource Guide for Baby Boomers-Second Edition” was published at the end of last year.
