What you’ll learn during this webinar presentation
Endometriosis is a common cause of pelvic pain and infertility. Unfortunately, symptoms may often be dismissed or misdiagnosed especially by physicians who may be unfamiliar with the complexity of the disease. While endometriosis typically grows in the pelvic area, it may also travel to locations outside the pelvis.
Understanding the atypical locations of endometriosis is key in the appropriate diagnosis and treatment of women with pelvic pain. While a multidisciplinary approach is often necessary to target all aspects of the disease, the initial evaluation should be performed by a gynecologist trained in detecting the disease wherever it may be located. Full excision of endometriotic implants, inside and outside the pelvis, is necessary to alleviate symptoms. This talk will focus on atypical locations of endometriosis, and the symptoms associated with disease found in those locations.
