WHAT IS THE RIPPLE EFFECT PRESENTATION?

The Ripple Effect is a bullying prevention presentation created for Elementary, Middle, and High School students. This presentation intends to support student social-emotional competencies and foster a safe school climate at participating sites. Students will be able to define bullying, understand the negative effects of this behavior, and generate ideas on how to spread kindness. The information provided emphasizes the importance of advocating for yourself and others and practicing empathy to create a ripple effect of kindness in your school and community!

Student Learning Objectives

  • Define, understand, and identify bullying behaviors.
  • Distinguish between unkind behaviors and bullying behaviors.
  • Identify short-term and long-term effects of bullying.
  • Address bullying situations in appropriate and effective ways.
  • Recognize key character traits associated with being an Upstander.
  • Generate their own ripple effect of kindness!

Group Size: Individual classrooms, small groups, and large groups. Special arrangements can be made for schoolwide assemblies

Length: 20-25 minutes for Elementary School & 45-50 minutes for Middle/High School

This FREE workshop is presented in a virtual or in-person format.

We will require the ability to either wirelessly connect to a projector or will need access to a smart board (Newline) to facilitate the presentation. Depending on the group size and location, a mic and speaker set up may also be required.
