About the Prostate Cancer Family Support Group
In 1991, a group of men began meeting in Riverside, California to support each other as they battled and recovered from prostate cancer. Over 25 years later, the Riverside Medical Clinic Charitable Foundation’s Prostate Cancer Family Support Group has had over 5,000 attendees. Members include the newly diagnosed, those currently undergoing treatment, and prostate cancer survivors. Wives, partners, adult family members and close friends are welcome to attend. Meetings are free, and participants are welcome from all medical groups.
The group meets on the second Thursday of most months (no meetings are held in August and December). We suggest you contact the Riverside Medical Clinic Charitable Foundation at (951) 682-2753 for the most up-to-date meeting information, including location, prior to attending a meeting.
Prostate Cancer Family Support Group meetings encourage education, support and discussion about various prostate cancer-related topics, including available treatments, managing side effects, and the benefits of diet, exercise and other lifestyle modifications. Members have time to interact with other prostate cancer patients to share their experiences and receive mutual support.
Meetings are FREE, and participants are welcome from all medical groups. Spouses, partners, adult family members and close friends are welcome to attend.
